Arsenal welcome Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium tomorrow evening in their first home game of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Both sides opened their campaigns with 1-0 victories last weekend. Arsenal won away at Manchester United on Sunday, and Leeds were victorious at home against Everton on Monday night.

This intriguing clash offers Mikel Arteta’s side the chance to build momentum in front of their home fans ahead of their trip to Anfield next Sunday. Leeds will be looking to show their survival credentials against one of the league’s title contenders.

Arsenal Match Preview

Arsenal’s win at Old Trafford last weekend drew a lot of criticism, despite the result. Viktor Gyokeres received the brunt of the criticism after he was taken off after an hour having not registered a single shot. It was all very over the top, and you would think that the scoreline was reversed from some of the comments made online and in the media!

The Swedish forward wasn’t the only one to struggle as Arsenal’s attack as a whole lacked fluency and rhythm. However, standout displays came from Riccardo Calafiori, who scored the game’s only goal, and goalkeeper David Raya, who made a string of fine saves. Martin Ødegaard looked sharp in spells but will hope to be better creatively against Leeds.

In his pre-match press conference earlier today, Arteta confirmed that Kai Havertz and Christian Nørgaard will miss out, while Ben White and Jurriën Timber are doubts having not featured in all of the training sessions this week. Unfortunately, it appears that incoming signing Eberechi Eze (after he rejected Spurs) has not been registered in time to feature, though fans will hope to see him introduced to the crowd before the game.

Leeds United Match Preview

Leeds marked their Premier League return with a 1-0 win over Everton at Elland Road. New signing Lukas Nmecha scored a last-minute penalty after a controversial handball call against James Tarkowski. The less said about that decision the better…

Daniel Farke’s side limited Everton to just one shot on target in the 90 minutes, and they will need that same resilience against Arsenal, who will provide a much tougher test.

In terms of team news, Farke is expected to stick with a similar team to the one that beat Everton, with no new injury concerns reported.

My Prediction: Arsenal 3–0 Leeds United (Gyokeres, Saka, Odegaard)

This game represents a big opportunity for Arsenal to lay down a marker at the Emirates, while Leeds will be desperate to prove they can compete against elite opposition. With the noisy Emirates crowd behind them, and their superstars on show, Arsenal should record a dominant win.
